CAMBRILS - COSTA DORADA - SPAIN

Cambrils is a typical Mediterranean seaside town in the Spanish region of Catalonia in the heart of the Costa Daurada where the long fishing tradition is still upheld today. The town dates back to Roman times when it was known as OLEASTRUM or 'town of the olive oil'. The town's geographical significance made it an important link between different eras and cultures.
Visitors enjoy long sandy beaches as well as a fishing and yachting harbour.
The traditional cuisine here is Mediterranean and is complimented by the wines of the wine-growing regions of Priorat, Penedés, Tarragona, Montsant und Terra Alta.
Forget the day-to-day stress of every day life, simply enjoy the pleasant climate and relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere as you take a stroll along the beach or a walk in the nearby mountains.
The nearest towns of cultural significance are Tarragona (UNESCO world heritage site), Montblanc with its medieval Old Town, Poblet (capital of the Cistecian route) and Reus the birthplace of the Katalan art nouveau. The region has inspired many artists such as Gaudi, Miró and Picasso and still inspires artists and visitors today.
LA MANGA
The La Manga Club is uniquely located, nestled in the soft, rolling countryside that separates the clear waters of the Mediterranean from the inland lake of Mar Menor. This coastline in the southern Spanish region Murcia, located to the south of the Costa Blanca is know as the Costa Cálida or 'warm coast' thanks to the very mild Mediterranean climate that prevails throughout the year.
One of the biggest attractions on the Costa Celia is the La Manga Club itself. The club's 566 hectares of parks and gardens have been beautifully landscaped and not only incorporate three of Europe's best golf courses but also 28 tennis courts, a professional football training centre with eight grass pitches, a luxurious spa and fitness centre, swimming pools and the elegant apartment complexes of the 5-star Hotel Hyatt Regency La Manga, holiday apartments and villas, a large selection of restaurants, bars, shops and service facilities. The entire resort has been tastefully designed set among palm trees, Scotch pines and lemons groves with streets lined with oleander.
Close to the resort you will find La Manga del Mar Menor. This narrow headland, named after the resort, separates the sea from the largest salt-water lagoon in Europe. It stretches over 22 kilometres from the fishing village Cabo de Palos to the salt flats of San Pedro del Pinatar. With beaches on both sides of the headland, to the Mediterranean and Mar Menor, this region is absolutely perfect for all types of water sports and there are numerous sailing schools offering lessons in windsurfing, water-skiing and sailing.
