Tennis pre-season training in the Engadin near St Moritz
The European Tennis Academy is set to open its new destination in the Engadin in 2027 – and the location couldn’t be better: the Schweizerhof, part of Faern Hotels and Resorts, is situated in the heart of Sils Maria between Lake Sils and Lake Silvaplana, just around a 13-minute drive from the world-famous St Moritz. Matches will be played in the spacious St. Moritz indoor tennis centre. The season is drawing nearer – and right now is the time to decide what form your team will be in when they take to the court in the spring. Our pre-season camp will take your team away from the daily grind and back onto the court – with intensive training sessions, spring air at 1,800 metres and the team spirit that makes a side strong in the spring.
Tennis camp for club teams in the Engadin
This programme is specifically aimed at inter-club teams and club teams who wish to prepare for the season together – from the first warm-up to the final doubles match, a dedicated coach will support your team throughout the camp. And even if you’re travelling as an individual or a couple, you’re welcome: we’ll organise a group of players at your level – so you can train as part of a team, find new playing partners and get off to the best possible start to the season.

The Key to Victory
When does a match turn, and where does the momentum go? Your PRESENCE and the MATCH COMPASS are key! In the first session, you’ll learn how to adapt your presence to suit the situation. In the final session, you’ll be given the Match Compass to help with focus and tactics. These two sessions form the ‘key to victory’.
Each team selects the remaining two or three sessions from the five topics on offer to get the season off to a flying start!
Season Preparation – Your Training Program
Training at 1,856 metres – just outside St Moritz
The Upper Engadine lies at an altitude of 1,800 metres: the air is thinner, the balls fly faster and higher – and your team builds up exactly the level of fitness it needs for the decisive moment of the season. It is precisely this appeal that gives teams the edge in the spring. At the St. Moritz Tennis Centre, you can train on three indoor hard courts whatever the weather – right in the heart of the Engadin, with St. Moritz as a dazzling backdrop. Between sessions, a game of padel or squash is a great way to stretch your legs. And if you fancy it, after training you can immerse yourself in the surroundings familiar to winter sports superstars: from the Via Serlas to the Segantini Museum, St. Moritz is always worth a visit.

At the Schweizerhof Sils Maria, your players will stay in comfortable Alpine-style rooms ranging from 16 to 50 m², all with unobstructed mountain views, fluffy towels, natural toiletries and fast Wi-Fi. The warm, relaxed atmosphere of the hotel makes it easy to start each day at camp – and after training, the team meets up for a relaxing end to the day in the hotel’s own spa area: warmth, tranquillity and mountain views.

At the Schweizerhof, you’ll enjoy half-board: breakfast and dinner are served in the Vuolp d’Or restaurant – featuring fresh, local ingredients and a kitchen team that’s keen to exceed your group’s expectations. This ensures your team starts every day of training feeling well-fed and well-rested.
The social aspect: wine tastings at the hotel
Pre-season preparations aren’t just about training sessions on the pitch – they’re also about the evenings that bring a team closer together. At the Schweizerhof, we can organise wine-tasting sessions for your group on request (minimum 4 people, duration approx. 90 minutes each):
- Bündner Herrschaft Tasting: A journey through the finest Pinot Noir terroirs north of the Alps – selected wines from the region and the stories behind them. For an additional charge, enjoy top-quality Pinots and Completer Pro from the region’s finest wineries.
- Valtellina Tasting: The Nebbiolo terraces of Valtellina in a glass – Rosso di Valtellina, Sforzato and Riserva wines. A journey to the neighbouring valley, just a mountain pass away.
- Super Tuscan Tasting – Horizontal: A direct comparison of four iconic wines from the same vintage: Ornellaia, Sassicaia, Tignanello and Solaia. Due to limited availability, we recommend booking well in advance.

- New destination from 2027: The Schweizerhof Sils Maria will be a partner hotel of the European Tennis Academy in the Engadin from 2027.
- Camp dates: 28 February to 11 April 2027, four options: Sun–Tue, Sun–Wed, Thu–Sun and Fri–Sun.
- Who it’s for: Inter-club teams and club teams; individuals and pairs are welcome – we’ll organise a group of similar ability.
- Transfer: It takes around 13 minutes by car (9.5 km) from the hotel to the St. Moritz Tennis Centre – we can organise a transfer for your group on request. It is also easy to get there by car (Via Mezdi 31, 7500 St. Moritz, around 2.5 hours from Zurich).
- Wine tastings: Three tastings available to book at the hotel (Bündner Herrschaft, Valtellina, Super Tuscan) – for groups of 4 or more, duration approx. 90 minutes.
- Booking: Bookings are made directly through the European Tennis Academy – we will organise your training sessions, court bookings at the St. Moritz indoor tennis centre, padel and squash courts, and the tastings for you.
